Broncos safety T.J. Ward was accused of misdemeanor assault and disturbing the peace for purportedly throwing a mug at a female barkeep at a Denver strip club May 10. As per court reports, Ward was seen on camera grabbing a glass mug from the bar and throwing it at the barkeep in the wake of being told he couldn’t bring a beverage into the club.
Ward’s court date is June 23. Police issued a warrant Thursday. Ward’s lawyer said his client didn’t know he was wanted until he saw a TV report Thursday night. Ward, who went to De La Salle High, marked a four-year, $22.5 million arrangement with Denver this spring. He’s coming off a Pro Bowl season in Cleveland.
